It is amazing to see how God's hand has been on this adoption since day one. We know now more than ever that this is God's plan. God placed this burden on my heart over 7 years ago. He knows the perfect time and place for us to meet. When we started this adoption journey, we were not looking for a special needs child. God kept giving me babies with heart murmurs at work. Finally, I became aware that we needed to look into this further. I researched and became very comfortable with atrial septal defects. I finally told Adam that I felt this is the way we should go. The very next day, Mikki showed up on a "waiting children's" list. We applied for her (many other families applied for her also).We spoke to Father Tom and many of our christian friends. We were not praying that we would get her, but that God's will would be done. We were "matched" with her on Adam's birthday (another sign)while at Disney World (Where Dreams Come True). From there, our journey to Mikki began. Everything moved with miraculous speed. The paperwork was sent and reviewed in record timing.We received our LOA (letter of acceptance from China)on February 5Th. We were supposed to travel with a group on April 10Th. Adam is speaking at a conference in Germany that week, so our travel leader, Mike, agreed to let us travel without the group and leave in March. Now to the next sign from our Father above. We are obligated to sell 25 raffle tickets at $10 each for the annual Dinner and Dance Auction at our children's school. We just bought all of them because we didn't want to ask anyone to give us money. The first prize is $5000, second prize is $2500 then $1000,$500,and 4-$100's.You guessed it, we won $5000. Father Tom pulled our name out of the basket, I don't think he could believe it either. When Mrs. Scheffler announced us, everyone was so happy and also very aware of God's hand in it. To quote Mrs. Scheffler, "God is paving a path to China for you to get this little one". We should hold her in our arms for the first time on Easter Sunday
Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find;
knock and the door will be opened to you.
For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds;
and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.
--- Matthew 7:7-8
" Not flesh of my flesh, nor bone of my bone, but miraculously, still my own."
Do not be afraid, for I am with you; I will bring your children from the east and gather you from the west.
